Gren Christie

Gren Christie attended Hastings Boys High School, and holds a Diploma in Horticulture from Massey University.  He lives in Waipukurau in a low-energy, low-carbon footprint straw bale house which he designed and built himself.  Gren’s work history spans orchards, NZ Railways, and 20 years at the Lyttelton Port. He has a strong union background as an executive member, delegate, and negotiator, and has organised campaigns for social and environmental issues.  Gren was a member of the Ruataniwha Dam Stakeholders’ Group (the group established by the HB Regional Council in 2011 to provide feedback on the Ruataniwha Dam v.1).
